WROs with support from Saferworld on the FCDO resourcing change project

WILPF Nigeria Women’s Rights Organization (WROs) in collaboration with Women for Women International WROs with support from Saferworld on the FCDO resourcing change project, paid advocacy visits to the Office of the wife of Governor Cross River State, Ministry of Women Affairs, and the One Stop Center at General Hospital.
The advocacy visit broader around the following ASKs;

1. The implementation of the Violence Against Person Prohibition (VAPP) Law in Cross River State.
2. 75% reduction in taxes on sanitary pads to enhance accessibility and promote women and girls sexual and reproductive health and rights.

3. Domestication of a State Action Plan on Women, Peace and Security especially with the recent 3rd National Action Plan on WPS being developed. This is to support women participation in peace building and decision-making processes relating to peace and security.

4. Increased budgetary allocations to the State Ministry of Women Affairs to address issues impacting women and children
