WILPF NIGERIA MEMBERS AND PARTNERS END OF YEAR CAPACITY BUILDING WORKSHOP

Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF Nigeria) held its members and partners’ capacity building workshop on the 27th and 28th of November, 2017. This was to commemorate the 16 days of activism with the theme Gender Based Violence in Education. It had in attendance WILPF Staff, members from across the country and Partners from Sweden. The main goal of the meeting was to gather WILPF Nigeria members and update them on the various activities of WILPF Nigeria, and also deliberate on the way forward.

There was a also a movie screening of the documentary “SILENT TEARS” in commemoration of the 16 days of activism. It had in attendance representatives from Civil Society Organizations (CSO), Women Peace and Security (WPS) Members, the media and stakeholders involved in Women Peace and Security activities. The goal of screening the movie was to foster an informed dialogue and action on gender based violence in particular sexual violence.

At the end of the capacity building training, participants were able update knowledge on the activities of WILPF Nigeria and also on the NAP on UNSCR 1325. The participants and funders also expressed satisfaction on the activities been implemented in the six geopolitical zones of Nigeria and gave their commitment to further projects of WILPF Nigeria.
