WILPF Nigeria with the support of WILPF International Sponsored a WILPF Nigeria Staff Isi Ikhimiukor and Institutional member Dorothy Njemanze from Dorothy Njemanze Foundation to represent WILPF Nigeria and the Coalition of NGOs who have prepared a shadow report on Women Peace and Security at the UN CEDAW Committee 67th session. The session was scheduled to hold from 3 to 21 June 2016 but the relevant week for Nigeria was the second week which was from 10th – 14th July, during which there was an informal meeting of Committee members with NGOs on Monday 10th July, a private lunch NGO briefing with Committee members on 13th July, and the Committee’s meeting with the Nigerian delegation on 14th July. lThe representatives also participated in the training program “Global to Local” on the CEDAW Committee, organized by International Women’s Right Action Watch Asia Pacific (IWRAW AP) from 7th to 9th July and also UPR trainings from 10th to 13th.
